Services & Hiring

I'm a freelance creative technologist based in Berlin. For over a decade I've built the technology behind artworks, exhibitions, and live performance, for artists, museums, festivals, and studios. I'm a working artist myself, so I understand both sides of the table: I can read a sketch, a score, or a half-formed idea and turn it into something that runs reliably in public, day after day.

What I do

Projection mapping
From concept through opening night: site surveys, projector and lens spec, media servers (Resolume), DMX lighting integration, and custom mapping software when off-the-shelf tools fall short. Most recently a two-projector, 60,000-lumen façade installation on the Abgeordnetenhaus Berlin for Kulturprojekte Berlin. See Memory Scripts.
Interactive installations
Computer vision, motion tracking, and sensor-driven experiences built in Unity, openFrameworks, and fully custom stacks, from a 60-foot motion-tracked graffiti wall at Panorama Festival (A.C.E.) to an AI-directed live cinema performance in New York (Jurassic Park).
Custom electronics & kinetics
Arduino and embedded systems, motor and stepper control, LED systems, sensors, and show control across DMX, Art-Net, OSC, and MIDI. For Johannes Büttner's MedBed at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, I choreographed three industrial motors, LEDs, and multichannel audio in sync with film.
Media systems & multi-screen sync
Synchronized video across many displays on affordable hardware. I develop kSync, an open-source Raspberry Pi platform with sub-10ms accuracy, field-proven in 24/7 public exhibitions in Berlin.
Web, servers & digital preservation
Websites and infrastructure for artists and institutions: hosting, archiving, and keeping net-based artworks alive long after launch. I'm the long-term technical lead for Akademie Schloss Solitude's Web Residencies program.
Emergency show support
A work misbehaving days before the opening? I diagnose and repair other people's installations (video sync, projection, electronics, software) on short notice, on site or remotely.

Who I work with

Artists with a production budget who need a technical partner who understands the work. Studios and agencies who need a technical lead they can put in front of a client. Museums, festivals, and institutions who need technology that survives a months-long run. And residency or commissioning programs that need ongoing infrastructure and artist support.

How working together goes

It starts with a free call or an email. Tell me your timeline, rough budget range, and venue, even if the idea is still vague. I'll tell you honestly what's feasible, what it might cost, and whether I'm the right person for it.

Engagements take three shapes: day-rate consulting and on-site work, fixed-bid builds for defined projects, and ongoing retainers for infrastructure and support. I'm based in Berlin and travel for installs; recent projects have taken me to New York and across Europe.

You own everything I build for you. I document my work so your team can run it without me, and I stay reachable when the show is up.

No project is too small. I also fix broken installations, build kiosks, and maintain artist websites and servers. Small jobs are how most of my longest collaborations started.
